Easy Chocolate Chip Cookies

Writer's picture: LemoncooksLemoncooks

There’s nothing better than a freshly baked warm chocolate chip cookie! Once you’ve learnt how to make this, you can begin to experiment with your mix! Sometimes, simple is best! You will find similar recipes online, this is a recipe I’m very happy with. It should yield around 14 decent size cookies.

Ingredients:

120g u/s butter

90g soft brown sugar (1/2 cup)

50g caster sugar (1/4 cup)

1 large egg

200g plain flour (1&1/2 cup)

½ tspn baking soda

2 tspn vanilla extract

200g dairy milk chocolate (cut up pieces)

Method:

Melt butter until soft, add the sugars and whisk until cream like. Add the vanilla extract and egg, and continue to whisk in. Add the flour and baking soda to form a dough like consistency. Once the dough mix is ready you can add the chopped dairy milk pieces, bind the chocolate well through the dough mix. Chill the cookie mix in the fridge for thirty minutes before rolling into 60g balls, then press the middle to make a puck. Use grease proof paper on a flat tray, and give the cookies room to breathe. Cook at 160’C in a fan assisted oven for ten minutes, when they come out of the oven they may appear slightly underdone, but they will carry on cooking for a few more minutes and harden up. Enjoy!
